farmall m throttle ?

I was useing my m to pull pumpkin hay ride and I think something in the govonor broke.....all of a sudden it would not ideal run's wide open....any help would be great full....

i mess with the throttle and eerything seems to work but nothing changes....runs wide open that's it.....

Remove the cover from the governor and replace that broken spring that you will find inside.

Just had the same issue. Replaced the 8 dollar governor spring through my local Agri-Parts supplier, and my M runs great now. I used mine for a hay ride at about 2am last night as well!

The thing is, the governor spring is what pulls it wide open and weight mechanism pulls it toward low speed and they reach that point of equalilbrium so as to maintain a set speed selected by operator(tension on spring and load on engine) If it only runs high speed something other than broken spring is problem.

was not the spring it was the plastic peace that broke and jamed the govnor wide open...in by the butterfly.....order part today....thanks guys....

The plastic portion on the throttle shaft is something that will fit kits use as it was never original equipment. I don't really know if CASEIH uses plastic now or not. If governor linkage to carb is adjusted properly it will not hammer that against the stop every time governor goes to wide open throttle valve position.
