Looking to put a buddy seat on one of my Farmall M's. Does anyone have a diagram of one or plans for one. Figure it would be nice to see some of the set ups you guys have come up with to get a couple of ideas to do my own. Thanks

Really sucks when people waist your valuable time huh???? You spun your own wheels by taking time to give this lameass response. Of those 460 posts, prolly 439 of them are drifted off and just folks visiting.

Whatcha got in mind Fallon? What type fenders do you have or where do you plan on mounting it?

Dave, Reason I posted was to get some idea from someone who has built one on an M. Not sure what options their are or which is best.

I do not have plans for a seat, but I know a guy that builds them.

The ones he builds will fit an M.
He charges $267.00 plus S&H.

There is a picture of one of his seats on page 16 of the July August "Red Power Magazine"

Pretty much all tractors over here have a seat on one or both fenders. They sell kid seats with seat belts that bolt on the fender. Here's an example:

I think we have a name for those over here, too....child endangerment. Day is not going to come I allow (rant, rant).

Just an opinion, but I don't think the M is the best tractor for a true buddy seat. Not a lot of room up there behind that wheel and the seat spring makes it darn hard enough to bail without having seats bolted to fenders. Best tractor I ever saw for one was the Farmall B. Makes a nice backroad cruiser and the extra equipment doesn't impair the operator. Do what you want but stay safe.

Why does everybody think farmers and other assorted barnyard engineers work from plans???

Heck, real farmers just start digging through the scrap pile and welding stuff together! What's a measuring tape? What's a caliper? Eyeball it! Need a hole? What's a drill? Get out the torches! The most pressing question is whether to use 6011 or 7018 rod.

Some pretty amazing stuff comes out of theses shops.
