Getting more hp out of a H

I am getting ready to start to rebuild my 1949 H and I would like to get the most hp with out braking the bank. it is equiped with a M&W live hyd pump. I would love to find a few other M&W add ons . any sugestions is welcome. Thanks

If for pulling there are many suggestions in the archives (search For box) under H rebuild, H horse power increase, Pulling an H.
If for Regular use, the archives are also good. Over bore kits for H Farmalls.
This site sells them. The Puller forum is also very good. JimN

x2 on the archives, The H has smaller combustion chamber then a super H, so If you buy steped head pistions and an overbore kit, you will be right up there pretty good with hp, becuase you will have more compression, what you can also do is find an M&W governer which just makes it more snappy, and/or have the cam reground. that is about all i would do on a budget and i would hope to see 35+ hp

Scott, My 1951 H has had some compression additions made to it like the Super H engine kit with domed pistons and thinner sleeves. I found on mine that with everything in proper order it was very difficult to start on the 6 volt system. You might want to be thinking about a 12 volt conversion as pulling it to get started gets old very quickly. Just something to consider if you "hop" it up somewhat, Hal.
