A oil presure Still 40 to 50

Installed the new gauge today on my A and this guage does move at idle it reads 40 psi at half to full throttle it reads 50 psi the old guage always said 60 after the engine was started. New oil filter element, new oil sae 30 any ideas?

I'm with tractorman and Red Mist. It sounds like a good tight motor. Unless you have reason to believe that the motor is loose or borderline on being worn out/shot, I wouldn't worry.

Part of it is using straight 30 oil. It will be stiff on a cold start and make more pressure. As a parallel, take the oil pressure gauge on the Cummins in my Ram. It is electronic, not an analog gauge which is pretty annoying -- once the oil is warmed up the gauge stays steady up around 45# whether idling or running hard. But when cold it runs up to about 90# and I can watch it settle back gardually to it's normal reading as the oil warms up.

Does the pressur ecome down once you have the motor warmed up well? If you're really worried about it, try running a bellyfull of 10-30 through it and see if the pressure isn't lower on startup than with the straight 30.
