856 gears won't release, hard to shift

I am having trouble shifting my 856. When I push the clutch in, you have to force the gear shift leavers to change gears like the clutch is not releasing. When you shift the Hi Lo leaver going form Hi or Lo to nutral, you can feel the pressure release off the gears. I have already screwed out the clutch rod with a little help from a torch to where there is no free travel. Think it might be the throw out bearing bad or going thru the fingers in the pressure plate? The clutch and pressure plate both have less than 700 hrs on them.
 
Well if its any thing like the 656 you have to set up the clutch and the ta at the same time. You should refer to the operators manual to see what the free play on the clutch is and then how to adjust the TA. I know if the setting is out its hard to shift gears on my 656.
 
Your dump valve is out of adjustment SOOOOoooooooo go back into the archives and look up Clutch and T/A adjustments as i have covered this many times in the past . If can not find it then give me a shout and we will go back over this either on here or i will give you my E/Mail and then i will send you my home phone # and you can call me . Wright now i have supper warming and i want to setr and relax for a bit , i am whipped .
 
I forgot to say this tractor does not have a TA. Never had one. This one come from factory without one. Straight eight speed.
 
Well then it is time to split and R & R the clutch as i am betting that you may have a damper spring or two come out of the clutch disc and are now wedged into the pressure plate and not allowing the pressure plate to disengage . Don't ask how i know
. And also with out being able to check the tractor out myself we are all guessing .
