806 diesel oil filter conversion kit available?

Does anyone know if there's a kit available to convert the stock
(and frustrating to keep from leaking) oil filters to a style where the
gaskets aren't such a pain?

I am working on a kit for this right now. Hopefully I will have these ready to sell in January of 2010.

Watch Red Power Magazine for the announcement.

Yes....I have seen it. The most recent was last year at the IN plow day in Noblesville, IN.

Sn # 502 was there also in the field.

Must have been awesome to see them there together. Seperated at birth, lived many years apart, reunited, definately would have been a kodak moment.

I'll take three kits. I have two 806's and a 856. I am supprised they have not made a spin on kit years ago. I changed both of my 806 fuel filters to the 56 series spin on filter.

I have changed many filters on 806's and 856's and have never had a problem unless someone did not remove ALL the old gskt. or o/rings And i have at one time found THREE stuck in one .

I often wondered why customers had me install a spin on filter adaptor so they could spend three times as much for a filter that is often not as good as the original, certainly no better. $4.98 versus any where from $9.00 to $17.00. per filter and then usually an extra spot to leak.

I learned a long time ago that as you tighten the canister you spin it as you tighten the bolt and you will have no leaks assuming you have all the old gasket out of the groove. Makes no matter if you are working on a truck or tractor engine and works on fuel filters also. Works for me! I converted my 560D to spin-on filter and after about a year the adapter gasket started leaking. Took the adapter apart and found old gasket left. Armand
