how can i remove an ih 2000 loader from my706 in the field. it is not near any trees to hang a pulley from but it is on good solid ground.the tractor quit on me so i cant use the hydraulics to raise the lift or move the tractor. so i need to take the lift off to pull the tra

Well the way i see it you need another loader to lift that one or what i would do if its posible hook a chain to the axle of the 706 and put it under the loader bucket and on to the tractor thats pulling. When you start to pull it will lift the bucket and will alow you to move the tractor, Just an idea that should work.

i dont have a tractor to borrow and my other one i am rebuilding so its apart right now an i don't understand the chain to axle idea

Martin, I think Erik has an idea! I take it you are going to pull your tractor with your truck?
If you pull from the front put the chain under the bucket and it may lift enough to move forward.
If not pull backwards and drage the bucket.
If you have to remove I guess a jack and alot of blocks will be needed. oldiron29

i was thinking pallets an HI-lift jacks i started today it worked well. but now i can figure out how to hold the back up to pull the tractor out.

They are suggesting that you hook one end of the chain to the front axle of your 706. Route the chain under the bucket of the loader. Attach second end of the chain to your tow vehicle. When the chain tightens, it will raise the bucket off the ground.

I'd think with a jack, come a long, and a couple chains with boomers you could get it up. Loosen a hose if you need to bleed anything off. Once you have the bucket up, split some pipe to lay on the extended rods and wire tie or duct tape the pipe to rods or cut a couple 4x4s to wedge between the frame and riser.

I keep a couple sky hooks handy for that kinda stuff but back in the day we built a tripod with 3 poles/pipes, etc. and wrapped and intertwined a chain around the top to keep it together. (like a tepee) Then hang your pulley, chain hoist, come a long, etc from the chain.

Do the chain under the bucket thing, but leave the 706 in park, so when you pull the chain tight, it only lifts the bucket.

Then, you can use blocking, or pieces of heavy pipe slotted and slipped over the lift cylinders to hold the loader off the ground. Tow the tractor home and remove the loader there, where you have tools and a tree to hang it from.

or, MAKE yourself a tree. All you need are three 6x6s to make a gantry frame, and a few 2x4s and stakes to hold it up.

When towing that 706 odds are you won't have brakes, and the steering will be almost useless. Be careful. I would almost want you to slip a pipe over the chain when you're towing to keep the tractor from crashing into the truck, and so you can use the truck brakes to stop the tractor.
