Hello, I hope some one can help me, I have a Farmall C that has never had a working temp gauge. I looked into it and found some one had cut the probe off. I have looked, but for the life of me I can not find where the probe goes in the engine. Any ideas?

A couple of places to look. On a C, it's most likely on the left side tapped into the lower inlet casting, between the hose and the block. If by chance you have a water pump in place of the regular inlet, it might still be in the same place.

The other would be on the upper neck which is also your fan support. In that position, the lead usually ran back the right side of the head, under the plugs.

You'll be looking for either a snipped off lead sticking out of a compression fitting, or a 1/8" pipe plug that might have been put in its place. Then it's always possible that someone replaced one of those pieces with one that was not tapped out for the probe. In that case you might find a boss in the casting that could be tapped out for the probe.
