686 TA

Has anyone replaced a ta in a 686 or 666 tractor? I was at my Case IH dealer today and asked him how much to replace a ta and i was shocked. He said they just did one about a month ago and it cost 4700 dollars .I had heard it might cost 2000 or 2500 and i thought that was enough but 4700 HOLLY COW !!!! I hope some one can tell me thats not right.

I wish i could have got that much out of installing one for that much. Good grief for that much at may shop you could have got a clutch t/a and engine overhaul . The best clutch pressure plate all bearing T/A all seals and gskts WITH labor would not have been 1400 . Talk about RIPE OFF BIG TIME .

4700 sounds like alot,but I would like to see the work order to see what was all done.1400 sound awfully cheap and would want to see that work order too.So just to get everbody started theres your range & there is probably a comprise in there some where.
