Hello,
I am TRYING to replace the seal for the shaft that comes out of the front of the transmission the drives the hydraulic belly pump on my farmall h. I have taken out the three bolts that hold the retainer that hold the seal i need to replace but the little drive end that connects the stub shaft to the belly pump won't come off. Does anyone have suggestions to get that piece off so I can cange the seal. Thanks in advance!!!

put tractor in 5th gear...lock the brakes, remember lefty loosy on this one. a good size pry bar with a square shaft fits perfectly. Some are stubborn but it will come off.

putting it in gear and locking the brakes will keep it from turning while you are trying to loosen. You could also weld a square key to a socket, so you can use your impact gun.

It unscrews counter clockwise. I have gottem them off by putting the pto in gear and then installing an old pto implement shaft on the pto and locking it so the pto can't turn. The pto is directly connected to the transmission counter shaft which is what drives the belly pump. Once the shaft is locked so it can't turn, you should be able to get it off with a bar in the slotted coupling.

I just used a square bar that fit in there, and gave it some good yanks while it was in gear. It broke relatively easy. After that, the rest was cake.
