Farmall A H4 Magneto

I tried to post earlier but Im not sure it went through so Ill try this again. In summary I have an old Farmall A with an H4 Mag. that didnt have a condensor in it. I think it might be missing parts based off of pictures I have seen posted. There is nothing coming out the side of it for the ignition cut off switch. The puzzling thing is I bought a kit for it and the condesor in the kit did not reach outside the mag. to connect to the shut off wire. I have been looking and it looks like 2 diff. types of condensors are available for the H4 mag. is this true? are there diff. h4 mags? Any ideas.... etc. Thanks, Matt

Sounds like you might have got he kit for the battery ignition. The condenser for the mag is 2/3 or more again the length of the other, and the thread on the end is long enough to poke out through the mag body and two insulators to connect ot he ground wire. The cylindrical body of the mag condenser is enough longer that there is a clamp on the inboard side of the mag to hold it in place.

The threads dont reach outside they do reach into the bakelite piece then a brass piece with hex head and round body that will reach the condenser the little brass stud has internal threads that match the concenser and also take the screw that hold grounding sw.If you need that brass piece let me know as i should have one from a junked mag. You also need the little piece that holds the rear of the condenser in place along with the screw.

Gene that sounds exactly like the pieces Im looking for. Both of those are missing. How much would you want for them and when can you ship them out? You can email me at [email protected] and we can arrange some kind of payment etc. Thanks for the help!

Here's a link (you'll have to cut and paste) to the official IH mag manual:
