I have been monitoring the MH/MF forum since I started on the 44, but you guys are a lot more interesting, and post more. I miss talking on this forum and may have to work on the H just to talk.

We could talk about your 44 on this forum also. I actually know quite a bit about 44s. I know they are red, usually have 4 wheels, and most of them have some sort of internal combustion engine connected to the rear wheels through a transmission. What am I missing?

it has 2 say ih on it!! not realy but i have a 44 also so i cant complain.. well maybe i can because its in shambles in my shop!!

Hey Rusty, you are right on! My Dad's had a big round oil stain on the cement under it too! But then again so did the M and the 4020! I guess they all have alot in common.

Amen David. I check in on this forum just about daily just to see what kind of problems people are having (with their tractors) and who thinks they know the most. I'm a rookie at working on tractors, but can admit this forum has helped me bunches on fixing my H up. Everyone on here is great and keep on sharing the knowledge as well as entertaining the masses!!

i too have a 44 H and one of those green ones they both have a dark stain under them they are only marking there spots in the barn HA HA HA

Yep, once you get beyond the color of the paint and the shape of the sheet metal, there just ain't a whole lot of difference.

I have quite an assortment to work on. John Deere 4020D, John Deere LX280, Ford 6610 with loader, H, 44, Cub 123 and cub 102. Most were my dads that I am in the process of restoring. The first 3 tractors are actively used. All of them leak except the 4020, because we spent last winter plugging the leaks on that one. The H comes in second with only two leaks on the belt pulley and PTO.

I am trying to beat the winter to get my new shop finished and the old shed demolished. I believe that winter is winning here in the Midwest.

I just don't know how to explain it guys. I'm 36 years old and a Farmall just screams classic to me. I have people come over and they see the old smta in my garage and they just look at me and say why. Then I start it, then they understand. It is an addiction.
