I thought this was straight forward and I could figure it out but I think I may need some help.
I bought a non running H and the shift lever was not installed correctly and is loose.
I lined up the rails, installed the shifter and installed the pin but it does not work right. The pin is loose and the shifter comes out of the rails when you try to move it. (IF you are not careful you will pinch your fingers when the shifter hits the post)
I was thinking I had a wrong shifter and tried getting one off of a parts tractor but I could not get the pin to move. I bent my pin punch hitting on it.
The parts diagram shows 2 different pins (small and Large) as well as a "Gear Shifter Lever Swivel Shaft Hole Plug"
I am confused, what am I missing here?

Thanks
KenB

Kinda sounds like your spring on the shifter is rusted stuck and not allowing you to keep downward pressure on it. You should have to press down on the shifter lever pretty hard to get the holes to line up for the pin to go through.
Or you could be missing the swivel.

Here is what the end should look like.
