1066 steering repairs questions

I have all the new parts to tighten up my sloppy front end on this tractor. All new bushings and pins for the center steering pivot arm and cylinder shaft mount. Looks like the pins on both are a press fit. How is the best way to remove to old pins and put in the new ones. Looks like the cylinder mount pin is going to be a lot easier to get out than the center steering pivot arm pin. I would also take any tips and advise on makng these repairs. Thanks

Center 1 inch pin that holds the wishbone [one in the front axle casting] is held in with a roll pin. Drive roll pin out & pin should fall out. When putting this pin back, have an assortment of 1 inch washers on hand to shim up the empty space between wishbone & axle casting. Get as little slack as you can in this area.
The bushings are straight forward--use a hacksaw to cut through the 1 inch bushings [remove blade from saw & insert it through the bushings & then reassemble blade on hacksaw].
On the large steering cylinder bushings, use a small chisel to cut through them. Could probably use a die grinder also.

IH issued a service bulletin for reworking the center pivot assembly where the pin goes through. It involves machining the top and bottom flat where the pin goes through it and the addition of washers to shim it so that it holds the cylinder in the correct location. Also on the top and bottom of the assembly you were to machine recesses to accept O-rings to seal dirt out of the pivot area.

I made a tool to cut the recess so with that and a hand grinder I was able to do the update service without sending the part to a machine shop.

Since I am just doing my own and one time, I will probably do the machine shop thing. Do I need to find that service bulletin and give to the machine shop to get it done right? On the pin thru block on left side steering cylinder shaft can it be driven out fairly easily or will I have to apply heat to casting around pin. Don't like the heat idea but if that is the recommended way I'll do it.

That pin on the end of the cylinder was wallowed out & loose on ours. If you have the pin with a nut on the bottom, & it is tight yet, I don't know what will loosen it up. Ours has a taper in the top of the axle to match the replacement pin. The original setup was just a 1 inch pin with a cotter pin through it.
