how to remove an international 2000 loader i have never removed one and want to do it the right way. i know to remove all the bolts but how do you get it off the tractor and have it where you are able to put it back on later.

thanks,Martin

Martin: A lot depends on how much you want to take off. The lift boom, complete with bucket and cylinders come very easily. Works best on a level floor, as it will be easier to replace pins when you want it back on tractor. You just drive in chain boom up to ceiling, near pivot closest to you, disconnect plumbing, remove pins and back away. One thing to remember, remove the boom with bucket in place, whole lot easier to handle and it with stand better. As you remove it, place shim boards under one side of bucket if not perfectly level, keeps pin holes lined up.

The sub frame if you want it off, almost has to come off piece by piece. I had a 560 with a 2000, we never did take sub-frame off. Worked well, we just wanted the loader boom and bucket weith off during tillage, haying etc.

Martin: One thing I should have mentioned, some of these loaders were assembled a bit different from others. Mine had the lift cylinders with ram end hooked to sub-frame and cylinder tube hooked to loader boom. This allowed plumbing to cross over on the big cross member at front of lift boom. It then had steel tubing back along loader boom to quick couplers. In other words steel tubing went along one side for lift and other side for bucket.

The other set up I've see is cylinders attached in opposite direction with plumbing crossing at back, usually under fuel tank. This made it almost necessary to leave lift cylinders with sub-frame and tie them to uprights. I had an older loader plumbed like that, didn't particularly like as cylinders always created a rattle on there, during field operating.

I always stored my loader tractor in a section of drive shed reserved for that. When loader was off for field work, I could still part tractor partially entered in loader to save shed space. Big thing is having the tractor and loader level at removal. Nice to be able to drive in, lift with one hand on boom enough for first pin, walk around the tractor and have other pin slide in. I have taken loader off under a tree, with chain over a limb, works allright if your careful, however it always seemed loader moved while tractor was gone. Guess it was wind in the tree.
