Hyd Pressure

I have an IH 424D with power steering that has seen some long service. When cold the hydralic works fine and lifts the implements (mostly mowers)without hesitation. When it get warmed up I lose almost all pressure no matter how high the engine is reved up. Fluid level is fine. I do need to find a filter and currently it is without.

Hi, the 424 has one hydraulic pump with a flow divider controling the rate of flow for power steering and 3pt. The hydraulic filter is on the return hydraulic return line in the hydraulic housing to right rear of gear shift lever. There is also a hydraulic pressure relieve valve in the hydraulic housing under the seat.
It is difficult to diagnose your problem but some things to consider:
1)Has the hydraulic filter been cleaned recently?
2)Does the power steering work OK?

Could be a worn pump but if power steering works OK then possibly be faulty priority valve or pressure relief valve. You will require a hydraulic flow and pressure guages to diagnose the problem.
