2000 loader on 454 IH

Will and IH 454 gas take a 2000 IH loader or is it too heavy or what model of loader IH or otherwise should I look for.

2200 should fit, made for that size of tractor, typically see them on 484 on newer.

Hi my brother had a 2250 on a 495 (same as 454 but newer model). He was moving silage and round bales with it. He totally destroyed the front end on the 495 after about 10 years.
Depends on the type of work you expect to be doing, using like my brother don't use a 454 but if it is just occasional use then 454 will be good.

I would definately say a 2000 is too heavy. My project for last winter was rehadding a 464. It had had a 2250 loader on it and the previous owner had broken the front end completely off the tractor. And did it by backing up. The front bolster, oil pan, radiator and part of the water pump all had to be replaced. Yeah a 2000 I would say is too heavy.

A loader brochure I have from 1980 says the 1850 loader is designed for 384, 364, 354, 464, 454, 574 and 674. The 2000 loader isn't mentioned in the 1980 brochure. A later brochure I have, which apparently is after IH stopped building the 1850 loader, says the 2200 loader is designed for 484, 584, 454, 464, 474 and 574 and again no mention of a 2000 loader.
