clutc drag on 1466

Hello. Just ran my 1466 yesterday and the clutch seemed to be dragging. Meaning that even with it all the way down the gears were still turning and I had to jam it slightly to get it into gear. Like a big truck with no clutch brake. Seemed to happen all at once. Any ideas? Thanks YC

I would take a look at the clutch from underneath and see if one of the fingers has a problem, like a crack where pin goes through or pin working out. If all are good and bearing contacts each evenly you may have a part of a clutch pad that came off of disc, or pilot bearing siezed. Lots of possibilities.

I'm ignorant to this exact tractor, but, Presuming it has a hydraulic clutch, might need to add clutch fluid and bleed the cylinder. Air in the line would make it do that.

Well first drop the cover on the bottom of the bell housing and see what all falls out if ya find EXTRA PARTS that look mangled then more then likely the damper springs are broken on the disc and are jaming the pressure plate from releasing . That maybe one problem It also could be and EYE bolt on the release lever broke and only two fingers are working . Any of the above will requier a split and a new clutch and disc. If this is needed the also have the flywheel reground and the step cut to assure propper step hight to face of the flywheel . If the free travel is correct and nothing has changed there ya may try and adjust the transmission brake .
