H carb float adjustment

When I turn the gas on, the carb spills fuel out the air inlet within seconds. Took apart, all the parts are clean and in good shape. I"m going to check the float for a hole (maybe sinking)...does someone know the proper float travel for an H carb?

Thanks

I'd tell you if I knew for sure. What I can tell you is that the second best investment you can make is a set of manuals.

A good rule of thumb for no information is to set floats level.

Did you try tapping the needle valve to seat it a litle better?

Can you get to the float with a small wire, and push it up from he drain plug to see if it is floating or sinking? If you push it up, does the fuel shut off?

I have a few H carbs, but it would take some digging to see the exact set up. as I can't remember so well.
