H head lights not working

Headlights worked when I bought the tractor but the generator was not working and the belt was off. I switched batteries to keep them charged till the generator was rebuilt to use the tractor and put the battery in backwards once neg ground. The generator has been rebuilt and repolarized Now the lights do not work. What has to be replaced the lights,resistance coil,dimmer coil the fuse looks good.

Check with a test light as follows:
Power at the load side of amp meter (side not connected to starter switch terminal)

power at light switch from Amp meter.
Power at wire going to lights (either in the D or B positions, with dimmer in the D position)

Power at the light bulb on each side of tractor.
Power at the ground of the bulb, If power at the ground, the ground is bad!! Voltage must be used at the bulb. JimN

If voltages all check out, test the bulbs. But I'd suspect the ground connection first.
