Farmall super C fasthitch

George: You could buy a 3 point adapter kit for your SC fast hitch. Go to top of this page under parts. YT sell that adapter.

You could also find a pair of fast hitch forks and have fabricator weld them to you blade in the area where lower link pins are.

Personally I like the adaptor idea, gives you a lot more options should you acquire other implements.

Here is what my 2 point to 3 point looks like, it is OEM. Ron

George: That system Ron shows in his photo, is the best in my opinion. I know a couple of guys with those, they swear by them. Probably going to cost a bit more initially, but it's well worth it.

Charlie: I've never used the adapter myself, Ron could perhaps give you a better idea. The adaptor may have cross members that interfere with plow coulters or plow adjustment. I'm just not sure.

My experience with fast hitch plowing tractors has been the one point fast hitch on 130 and 140. I have 3 point hitch conversions for both my tractors. I built these 3 point hitches and they work very well on most equipment, one exception. I have the factory 2x12 plow, and I also have the very same plow in a 3 point hitch version. I can not pull the 3 point plow as easily as the fast hitch plow.

Love it or hate it, there was some magic in that old fast hitch for plowing. By the same sign, I think modern engineered 3 point hitch tractors will perform well on 3 point hitch plows. The cross over is the problem if encountered.

I"m not too familiar with the Fast Hitch, but have been looking at some Super C"s for sale.

The Fast Hitch has its" own hydraulic cylinder at the rear of the tractor right?

vs the Touch Control which is the hydraulic actuator behind the engine and above the torque tube. Is that right?

If so then a 2pt Fast Hitch to 3pt conversion kit is about 400 vs the one for use with no Fast Hitch and just Touch Control is ~1G. Am I understanding that correctly?

Thanks

dpski: You may be understanding that correctly, however I don't understand your pricing formula.

A Super C with fast hitch will have it's own remote cylinder, check valve and remote valve that operate the hitch and were part of the hitch option when new. The 2 point to 3 point adapter that Ron shows in his photo has no hydraulics. It's just a mechanical device that plugs into fast hitch receivers and to which you can hook 3 point hitch equipment. I think the aftermarket adaptor is still under $200. new, often see them $100-$150 used.

So I can't understand where your coming up with $400. You certainly can't buy a new aftermarket 3 point hitch, complete with controls for $400. You probably can't buy a decent used one complete for $400.

The two systems don't mix, you either have a fast hitch and buy an adaptor for $150.-$200., buy a fast hitch complete with controls, plus buy the adaptor probably $650. total. or you can buy a new aftermarket 3 point hitch complete with controls for $750.-$800.

Now there may be deals on used parts that come along, be careful on that one, make sure you have it all. Finding that missing piece can get expensive.

Ron: I've forgotten, but does your adaptor have a cross member at the bottom just below hitching point. I remember seeing one years ago, and I'm not sure whether the cross member was a user add on, or factory. His problem is the cross member interfered with front of plow frame that coulters mount on. Really just the shape of the 3 point hitch plow that can't be avoided.

Ok, thanks.

I got the $ info from following the parts link pulldown at the top of the forum.

I interpreted the first one for use with a tractor that already has a FastHitch and the Second one for a tractor that does not have a FastHitch, but rather the regular TouchControl near the engine. From the diagrams it appears the 2nd one actually has long arms that would attach to the touch control levers.

Ron: From that diagram there is no cross member from side to side at bottom. No reason to stop one from using a 3 point hitch plow. I think on the one I saw, the owner had welded in a cross bar at bottom, to use as a drawbar, yet hadn't thought about how his plow might work.

dpski,

The $400 item is a fast hitch adapter to 3pt. This plugs into the fast hitch and is the thing in the pictures througout this thread.

The $1000 item is a 3pt hitch for tractors with no fast hitch at all.

Hugh's prices may be a bit out of date, though YT's prices can be high too.
