tires on super m

will 7.50-16 tires fit on the front of my super M? it has 6.00-16 on it now. also does anyone know how to stop the front end from wiggleing when driving down the road.

7.50's will fit, you will have to position the rims in the wide position. Many things could cause shimmy in front end, bad wheel brgs. rim bolts loose, bolster bushings and brgs bad.

When my front end was wabbling in road gear, I tore the whole front end apart, replaced upper and lower bushings,worm gear, half moon shaped gear,and thrust bearing. All were worn and I don"t know which one or if all were responsible, but it drives like a caddy now.

Check the stop collars on the steering shaft at the steering pedestal. Up tight against the post and all 4 set screws in there.

Yes, they will fit. I've got a pair of 215/80R-16s on the front of an H. Had to kind of squeeze the tire down to get it on the rim, and could not reinstall in the narrowest position, but it works quite well.

Just curious, why would you want that large a tire on the front of a Farmall M. 600 x 16 was the standard size. 750 x 16 will be 3 inches taller and will look very much oversized for the tractor. If you want to go larger than standard, 650 x 16 should work ok on your rims and is only 1 inch taller.

The big reason I did it was because the tri-ribs had a tendency to tear up the lawn when making tight turns (belly mower). The other reason is that it provides a way of using up the remaining life in tires that came off of the truck.
