W-6 live power

I can get my hands on a W-6.The motor is stuck, but the price is right,...free for the taking. I would like to use it on the chopper. My question is, I know they dont have live PTO, but could a live unit from a W-400-450 be used?? Or are they completley different animals? Thanks in advance. Rob

They are completely differnt and would not work. You could try and find a differntial spliter to give you live pto. But they are hard to find and pricey.

The only W-6 type tractor with a live/IPTO is the SW-6-TA. The W-6 was available with live hydraulics as an option since either 1948 or 1949 but no live/IPTO.

Jason: I find it hard to call that differential splitter live power. Yes, you have the ability to stop under PTO load, but you can't shift gears.
