300u 12 volt setup

I want to change my 300u from 6 to 12v but when I tried to order the kit to do so I was informed that there have been no kits made for the 300u. I Know that it can be done but I am not the best at fabricating my own idea to make it work. Can anybody lead me in the right direction at geting this done or is there a kit out there that I am not aware of yet? Thanks in advance for any help at all.

Who needs a kit. A delco 10si alternator from say a 1980 Chev pick up power nothing at a cost of $35-45 some wire a diode radio shack part #276-1661 and a little bit of know how and your done. BTDT and even have a 300U sitting right here that I switched to 12 volts
