Where can a overhaul kit and gaskets be found? I wonder what size pistons are available for a c-153 motor? Thanks for the help.
 
Ron: I presume you realize the C-153 is not a sleeved engine. They can be over bored, but I'm not sure of piston size available. I do know it is limited by block thickness. Same basic block on outside as the C-113 Farmall A, and by the time IH bumped it to 153 cu in, it was getting thin.
 
I have seen them 30,40,and 60 over. There is a guy on the pulling board that can make you a custom set of the fire crater style piston.
Just ask for JDB puller.
 
Try and find someone that deals with Howards enterprises. I am pretty sure they still sell stuff for them. If you can find a rering kit for a 146 the are the same just a little shorter stroke.
 
Too Far Gone: The C-153 was supposed to be 45 PTO hp in the 504 tractor. I had a new one way back when and it couldn't measure up to my 35 hp Farmall 300. At 1,500 hours the dealer bored it, installed overbore pistons. All I'll add is it got traded on a new 1066 and the 300 stayed on the farm. Bear in mind I only wanted a good wagon puller on hay and silage. 300 would bring a load of silage up to my barn in 3rd high, 504 we had to shift TA. Gas engines became very unimportant to IH after 1958.
 
I have one in a Super C and it has good power! It likes rpms to make the power though.
I bought it to go pulling with but I just haven't made it that far yet.
I should just sell it!

Mark: Good match up for Super C in my opinion. I've alway said 504 was just too much chassis for the C-153. Basically IH admitted that when they put a D-188 in the 504. I'll garentee you my old 300 wouldn't hold a candle to a 504 diesel.

By the same sign Super C was too much chassis for the C-123. Those little engines gave many more hours of service between rebuilds in an offset chassis with 24" tires.
