I have recently been given a Internatinal 300 utility but it has been partially taken apart. I need to knw if it is Pos. or Neg. ground.

6 volt positive ground from the factory. If it has been converted to a 12V alternator it is negative ground.

It is impossible to tell, Saturday I looked at 5 300/350U, all were 12v, 3 were POS Ground 2 NEG Ground. I have no idea where people come up with POS ground alt but the do. Check the coil leads Neg to the distributor is neg ground.

"Supposed to be neg to distributer for neg ground." It will run and charge with the leads reversed, for how long I don't know. The last time I put a battery in my C, I reversed the connections. Have not corrected them because to turn the battery around to use the "correct" ground attaching place is more trouble than it is worth. Tractor runs fine. I realize I should at least reverse the leads on the distributer, but for a little used tractor I have not done that.
