Running and moving H with no tranny fluid

Right now my tranny case is empty as I'm replacing seals. I need to replace the generator belt and replace the water jacket gasket. But before I do that, I was going to run some cooling system scale remover through the engine. That requires me cranking up the tractor and running it for a while. Also, we may want to sit the tractor in the front lawn with some hay for Halloween.

Would it be ok for me to back the tractor out of the garage, move it over to the lawn, and back in again? We're talking 20 feet or so.

at least have a bit in the trans. for the gears to pick up and splash around. with the motor running the trans is still turning. dry not good.

With the clutch in, nothing will be moving back there. Jam the pedal down with a block or something.

I'd just push it in and out of the garage. But a couple of gallons of gear lube won't be enough to reach the old seal and leak out.

didnt think it was wise to have clutch depressed and throw out bearing running on fingers for half hr. as he wanted to run descaler through it.

Ok, I hear you gents. Since it's not pressing, I can skip the halloween yard art if I can't get the tranny filled in time. And I'll just wait to do the cooling system things till after I get the tranny filled.

No sense in hurting my tractor when I can just be a little patient.

Thanks for the responses!

Pushing it out for art no issue. Driving it Not good. The Throwout bearing is just fine for a 1/2 hour run time, Just block the clutch down. It is a ball bearing that needs some exercise anyway. JimN

its ok if you have a new brg. but may be this one is ready to pill up and do more damage. as i have seen them wear through the fingers from being seised up.
