M heat shield for an H?

This may sound weird but if you were an expert
metal fabricator, you might be able to fabricate
one from a SS kitchen sink. No, I am not kidding.

Of course, you would need an original to copy and
it might be easier to repair the IH part. It is
usually the deeply formed compound curves that rot
out. That's where the sink corners would be
helpful.

And no way will a M shield fit a H. It is
certainly too wide and probably too deep. If it is
too deep, the hood won't fit over the shield. The
width could be corrected by removing a vertical
section from the center. Then it needs to be
rewelded.

The antique auto guys face these problems all the
time. I saw a guy make a perfect '33 Ford dash
from three different panels.
