560 Diesel Glow Plug Button

Do any of you guys know if those buttons are still available. My dads is bad on his tractor and also his rotary headlight switch. I found the headlight switches on here but cannot seem to find one of the glow plug button/meter.

Starter button will work just fine.

nuthin special bout the push switch getem at any parts house i put a flip (toggle) switch and a small indicator light on one for a friend

Robert: Don't use a toggle switch, too easy to forget it. If you forget it you may have dead batteries after a few hours operation, that is if glow plugs last that long.

Get any good push button type starter switch as Bill suggests. don't comprimise on quality.

to quote you Hugh: BULLFEATHERS! if your blind enough to not see the indicator light i put on there you need to stay off the tractor
the older man had trouble holding any tupe push button switch in long enough to start the ole wore out 560 its been on there now for about 4 yrs he aint left it on yet :p

Terry: There is no indicator light on any 560D I've seen new from the factory, only a non lighted gauge. You put toggle switches in there and sooner or later someone will forget. Problem is I think that one (FORGET) could be quite expensive. You may not forget, I may not forget, the old guy down the road may not forget, however someone will.

Terry: If the old guy is not able to hold the button in, questionable if he's able to drive a 560. Kind of like the 180# construction worker I saw at the beer store, one little elderly lady on duty, and he wanted carryout. I suggested if he wasn't able to carry a 24 of beer, he perhaps wasn't able to drink beer.

Hugh,

It might be an arthritis condition that makes pushing the button uncomfortable. And it can be a "pain in the thumb".

So if the motion to activate the glow plugs were different, there might not be any discomfort. That's how arthritis works. Not all motion in a joint is painful. Only certain vectors. I assume the operator has "work arounds" to compensate for other manual functions relating to tractor operation. Like maybe a "suicide knob" or some such.

Why don't we compromise with a momentary toggle switch?

I just got a push button switch from local auto parts store, take your old one in to match up.If u put a toggle switch in and someone leaves it on it will cost you a set of glow plugs.

Terry put the light on the tractor.

I don't see a problem with a MOMENTARY (i.e., or, that is, one that when you let go, it shuts off) toggle. Get one with a long toggle, it should be fairly easy to use with arthritis. Probably what I'd do.

Wardner: Sounds like a plan, I didn't know such a device existed. Now, there a sheltered life for you.

Sure glad you didn't make excuses for the guy at the beer store.
