Monday, Sept 21, an IHC 816 Mogul sold at a local central Wis. auction for $25,500.00. Tractor was described as complete with loose engine, had always been in same family. I didn't see it sell (dentist app't).
The auctioneere told me there were bidders from all over, even in England.

Wow, Do you know where it went to?

Grandpa has one in the shed that we need to fabricate or find clutch parts for. Its in really good shape other than that. He has it cause its the first tractor he remembers his grandpa having and he used to play on it in his childhood days. It was sold for scrap during WW2, he said he cried when it was gone. It is so interesting to hear his stories.

He also said his grandmother used the hood off it for a chicken coup and when he bought his it had no hood and it cost him 500 dollars at the time to buy one so he figures his grandmother had a 500 dollar chicken coup.

having a hood, your 8-16 would be an International, not a mogul. The International has 4 cyl engine, where the mogul is a single cyl engine. Worth quite a bit of money, but not that of a mogul

I see that now looking on tractor data. Built from 1914-1916. I never knew there was a differnce just though all 8-16's were mogul's. With that being said I don't think I have ever seen a mogul.

Thanks.

The Mogul didn't go far. I heard today it was purchased by a man near Baraboo, Wi; about 5 miles from the sale site.
