1466 horsepower available

I am looking at a blackstripe 1466 open station.Would like to know how much horsepower is available with out getting into larger turbos, injectors etc.Seems like the 1066s are more popular in the stock pulling class.

Up to 250 is no problem maybe as high as 300.

I don't know for sure what the upper limit is on a stock setup but I saw one that had the pump full fueled and the PTO failed at about 425 HP.

I figured I'd hijack the thread...sorry. What about a 1066?

pretty close to the same, within 15hp.
I would guess 265 on the 1066 and right at 275 on the 14.

Brad: I agree with Red, not going to be much difference. Back in the early 70s, countless new owners of 1066's had them dynoed only to find they were cranking 150+ hp from the factory. I know mine came in at 158. Not really a whole lot of difference in those two engines, 1/4" on stroke.
