234 picker on 350

would a 234 picker be too much for a 350? Were gettin one and not knowin what will put it on yet. I know they had trouble with the 300s and mounted pickers causin the axels to break, but fixed the problem on the 350s.

The 234 would be a bit too much for a 350. I'm sure it would fit, and IH made mounts for it. A 400,450,560,706 would be a much better tractor to mount it on.

We broke a rear axel on a Farmall 400 that had a mounted 2MHD on it. I want to think that 234 would be heaver yet if for no other reason that the complete husking bed was mounted behind the rear wheels. It's your call. Armand

You are looking for trouble as even larger tractors broke axles. Now if your fields are smooth and no rough ditches and you are very careful you mite get by. Just remember you are overloaded.

I have had 2ME picker on and M and a couple 2MH pickers on Super MTA.My last was 234 for 10 years,Had my share of rear axles busted, wheel bearings that went out.Unless it has 2-3/4 axles you are asking for troubles.Scott

I never saw one on anything less than a 706 around here and mostly 806's. They are heavy and if I remember correctly they really take some power too.

I am not familiar with your picker. I had a New Idea on a 300. The 300 did fine with it unless the corn was especially good, but then you had to slow down or the elevator could not keep up either. It would still grunt if the ground was damp and the wagon was full, but it always made it though. We did bust an axle, maybe two.
