Selling an ugly tractor

I have a 400 with a cheap loader. It is as ugly as it can get. The engine is good, the TA. is bad. It has Power steering and a wide front that needs two tie rod ends replaced. The front tires are mostly smooth the the back tires look about 80%. The sheet metal has drilled holes and patches and covers added to them. I would like to sell it for $1500 but if it is too ugly to get someone to buy it, then I would rather part it out. I need the hydraulics and grill for one of my other tractors and the P.S. would go on my 400.

To sell it, I will need to buy a new battery for it. If no one will buy it, I am stuck with a new 6 volt battery that I don't need. I drained some water out of the rear end before we towed it home. After 2 months, the rear end fluid still looks like cream. I should replace it, but, buying 15 gallons of hy-tran, for a tractor that might get parted out is foolish. Should I try to sell it this way or do you think that would be a waste of my time?
Thank you Steve

I agree with rusty..... 1500 is too much for a tractor like that that needs a TA and tires. If you don't feel like parting it out a 400 would look nice in my shop.

If it's as junky-looking as you say it is, then it'll never bring $1500.

As I see it you've got three choices:

1. Fix it up and sell it for a lot more.

2. Part it out.

3. Take your lumps and sell it for whatever it'll bring.

I had hoped for $1500 before I found out it needed a TA. I kind of forgot to reduce my price after I found that out.

I might need to make it a long term project and try to make it look pretty again.
