I have a farmall 340. This weekend while pulling a disk the TA
quit shifting into hi! It has always made sharp quick shifts but now stays in low. The TA shift lever feels like its not shifting but adjusting the linkage made no difference. Any help out there??
Thanks Wayne

If you remove the t/a linkage pins from the shaft closest to operator and the shaft will move clockwise and counterclockwise freely for a short distance there's a problem with the t/a clutch. Its not holding for some reason, maybe stripped the splines on t/a shaft that center of t/a clutch plate goes on if it done it at once with no noise. Also check for oil at drain holes on bottom of center housing in case a seal let oil get to clutch. Unless your linkage happend to be bond up a tear down is needed.

Thanks for fast reply. I will check your advise this weekend. Somehow I always thought the low would be the one to wear out first. I'll let you know what I found out Monday.
