300U trouble

I was out bushhogging yesterday, and the tractor started making some banging noises, seemed come from the trans or the pto. I tried to shut it down, but it stopped on it's own first. I can get it to turn over, the starter is trying, but something is locked up. I know it's not a lot of info, but any idea of most probable cause?

My 300u locked up yesterday too!!! Although I think we have different issues. For yours, I think the pto is locked up. Talked to a guy today, and he said that if it locks up, that you won't even be able to turn the tractor over.

I would agree that your PTO locked up. Not to sound like a valture but if you do decide to get rid of it let me know your location.

Crawl up under it and see if it has a seasonal disconnect for the PTO. If it does, try and move it to the neutral position. If you can then start it...your PTO is toast.
