Changing seat's on a Cub

I would like to change the seat on my 51 Cub
From stock seat to the deluxe seat.
I was wondering how hard it is to change shifters
and how to remove the shifer knob????

You have to have a knob puller. That would be a hand, forearm, and attached muscels. The knob is not threaded. It's a push on -- pull off kinda deal.

As Wardner says, the knob just pulls off. You will also need a longer shift lever with the correct bend. There is a pin that holds the lever in. Remove this pin and lever and insert new lever, making sure end linds up in the rails, and reinsert the pin.

Would probably just as easy and fast to switch the whole assembly out. Just changing the shifter can be a pain, but is doable. What it is, 6 or 8 bolts takes the whole top and all out? I changed the shifter on my Cub, with the same thing though, twice, and swapping thew whole top was by far easier.
