Yes. It makes my M run much cleaner. I have a friend with an F-20. E-85 is the only fuel he can burn in it that won't foul his plugs.

I don't know if that is such a good idea. If the government has to step in and pay subsidies for the ethanol to keep the refineries afloat, sounds like a band-aid on an amputatued arm to me. Takes too much energy to make ethanol from corn and with the sugar companies running D.C. there is no chance of importing or making the sugar based ethanol in the large scale.

Maybe its because I see the big picture instead of just from the corn side.

The one thing to remember is that E85 has a lot less HP per gallon, so fuel economy and the performance will suffer. The cars that run on E85 automatically advance the timing so that they can partially compensate for the lower BTU content.

Hey jonnny2006, why don't you post something productive instead of the same old troll? You come on here every couple of months with the same old blather about E85, drop your load, and disappear.

The problem with E85 is that it's a false economy. You only get slightly more out than you put in, and that's only if you're using the most modern efficient farm equipment and trucking. An old smoke-bellowing 1066 is going to use way more fuel on an acre of corn than a shiny new Magnum. the old GMC with "Screaming Jimmy" farm dumptruck gets about half the miles per gallon as a new Peterbilt 10-wheeler hauling the corn to the mill.

Yes, it drives the price of corn up, but it's all a sham that's subsidized by the government. It's not market driven at all.

Plus, you're telling FARMERS to buy their own products! That's the stupidest thing of all. You get diddley squat for your raw materials, then pay retail to buy finished product back?
