Farmall C - Should it have valve seals??

I got my rebuild kit from this site and was told it should have valve seals in it...None in the kit and none in the engine when I took it apart...I am guessing it didnt have them orignally?? Thanks for the help.

Probably not. You can find some at NAPA that will fit if you want to use them.

I'm assuming you're asking about valve stem seals, and your guess is right. It did not come with them originally and there would not normally be any in a gasket and seal kit for a motor rebuild.

I'm wondering if in shopping you saw two kits, one normally called a valve kit (basically just a head gasket and a valve cover gasket, maybe a gasket for the water outlet, but no valve stem seals) and an overhaul or rebuild kit, which would include pan gasket, front and rear main seals and all the assorted fiber gaskets for water pump, etc. . . AND everything that would be in the valve kit.

That said, I've had valve stem seals put on both my heads when I had them off. Sort of a can't hurt might help touch in my view.
