Hello can anybody give me the Fram / NAPA numbers for the engine oil cartridge and the hydro filters on a 340 utility. Also what can I do to get remotes to the rear of the tractor for a cylinder. The only lever is the one for the 3 point. This is a 1961 year made tractor did IH give 3 point as an option on this tractor. It does not have the fast hitch / zip hitch on it. Thanks Brian

B, a parts store should be able to get filters for you, local IH dealer or what is available also in Wisc. is Farm~Fleet and Fleet~Farm. The hydraulic filter is now one piece. Yup, three-point was an option and some came with no hitch as may have been used for municipality maintenance. So, you have no hydra-touch lever(s) on the right side of the sheet metal that surrounds the gas tank - no hole cutout in the sheet metal just to the right of the fuel gauge?

no levers on the side I do see where there is a cut out for them covered with sheet metal. This did have a gang mower on it at a city golf link. It has a draw bar also.I live in Ripon Thank you on the filters info I went on Case IH site and saw it is the 201 hydro system I have no books on it. Can I install a remote on it. Where could I get one from. Thank you, Brian

"Equip your present tractor with hydraulics to suit your needs. Complete packages available to update your present hydraulics to 1,2 or 3 valve systems for fast hitch work, (I know you have three-point)front end loading or other applications requiring additional hydraulic power." this from a 1962 'Farm and Equipment Parts and Accessories Catalogue' (with that spelling maybe you can guess it came from Hugh MacKay's country) Single, double, triple, single to double, single to triple and double to triple. You are in a good location: up the road ~14 miles to Berlin, or down the road to von des Sump IH in Dalton; 920-394-3595, which is where I would check this morning as you might be surprised what he might have, also a nice gentleman. I know a few months ago Wisconsin Tractor Parts, Black Creek 877-530-2010 had one 340 Farmall, sorry I can't recall what was left on it; I got a governor control rod; it had a wide front axle. Just for fun, this catalogue states a 250 hour oil filter element part # 376 374 R91 - $.92 or lots of 3 $.87. I have a receipt for five gallons of hytran-fluid, February 3, 2004, $19.99. It sure has jumped since then. I have learned that a small pry bar behind the brake pedal will allow you to remove the back bolt holding the hydraulic filter cover. Voice of experience speaking, have a BIG pan or lots of smaller ones HANDY when draining the fluid. One a cold January day, I pulled the rear plug, pulled another and by the time I reached for a rear-pan replacement, had a mess on the ground. Lots of good advise on this board and the archives are also a wealth of info. I don't think he minds me mentioning: Mark Peters (same posting name on this board) has a Farmall 340 and is north of you in Wisc. Good luck with your project, they are a wonderful little tractor!
