farmall super c sleeve seal, where to get??

I bought a 53 super c, all there just in picecs, someone put the sleeves in but i see pices of rubber o ring like material sticking out of the bottom of the sleeves in a few places, can I get just these seals, becasue the sleeves are almost new looking? where do you get them if you can?

Unless somebody knows the specs to order them from a generic source, just ask a Case IH dealer for them. Part #354 881 R1 is for just one ring.

I pushed the button too quickly.

Are they leaking? It doesn't stick in my mind that you can really see them when they're installed. I'm thinking if you can see them, it's possible that whoever put them in didn't fully clean out the slots in the block that they fit into.

so this part number is for the o-ring seal on a sleeve, and you can get at IH???

I took engine down, except I havent removed sleeves, this engine was running when i got it, it had tons of gunk, i cleaned, I noticed oring like material around seveal of the bottom of the sleeves once crank , pistons everything removed

It's your call whether to replace them or not. As I said, I'm not sure just how much if any of them might be normally visible.

If you do replace them, be sure to get all of the old ones and anything else cleaned out of the groove where they rest. The inside of that groove is rough (rougher than you would think for something they put so much emphasis on having clean) but it sounds like you're doing a through job of cleaning out the motor. A pick, a strong light and a mirror to slip into the hole to chekck things out would be in order.

Arguing against changing them out are a) the assumption that they are not leaking, b) it may be they look completely normal, and c) if the bores of the sleeves are out of round any, you might have more problems if you put the sleeves back with the egg oriented differently. If you want to replace them anyway while you are in there (not a bad idea), C can be overcome by scoring a light index mark for each sleeve in the top edge of the sleeve and onto the top of the block so that they are lined up as they were if you reuse them.

CIH gets $8 each for them. At that price why risk it, replace them.
