350 IH PTO seal

What is the best way to get that seal out? I have trying to pull the 5 inch diameter casting out that the PTO seal sits in and can't get it to move. It looks like if I move to the big plate that covers the the back of the PTO unit I will make the whole unit come loose and that looks like I will open up a can of worms. Does anyone have the number for the seal?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Independent PTO? If so remove the 3 bolts than hold the round plate in and pry it out. 460 has same PTO, just did mine. To go any further you need a puller. Seal number is in parts section of www.caseih.com. Can be crossed to National or Chicago Rawhide.

Thanks for responce. That's just it? I have been prying on the edge and trying to hammer it to turn it and can not get it to move. I was thinking of tapping the three hole with threads and seeing if I could jack it out. What do you think?

I suppose you can thread it and put a steel plate over the end of the pto, and pry it out with 3 bolts. It is just stuck to the gasket and could be rusted. If you drill holes in a plate, those 3 holes are not the same distance apart, in other words they do not make an equilateral triangle, so you will have to measure carefully. You probably have it out by now anyway.

CNKS: No It's still their. I put the bolts back in and am using the tractor again as is.
I maybe able to get back to it this weekend.
