Im still having problems getting this dang thing running. Does anyone know if putting the tune up kit from yt would make it not run? After I opened it i noticed that it said from years 1951-1962 on it and mine is a 49. Is there a special one just for the early ones? I cant figure out why it wont fire up and may be this.

Need to double check this- early Cubs were magneto ignition, couple years later were battery and distributor with different points as standard, magneto optional. Hs and Ms sort of same way, magneto standard with distributor optional until 1950+- then the distributor became the standard. Do you have hand crank and magneto? Could have eletric starter and lights and still have magneto ignition. RN

I have a hand crank but im preatty sure i have a distributer. Its a 1949 according to the serial tag. And i put in a new condencer and points and also has electric start and everything

Just a suggestion. Sometimes the new points will have an oily film on the contacts. Insert a one dollar bill in between the contacts, hold the contacts together, and drag the bill out. Do this a couple of times. You will probably see some dirt or crud on the dollar.
