The 300 and 400 came on 6 volt, many were switched over.My 400 was switched years ago to a 12 volt generator like a 450 or 560 had,and its a much better fit than the alternator route, and looks original.

yes my super C is 6 volts too but looking at a 100 guy has no idea about year or much else Is saying it turns over but doesn't start and is a 12 volt system Trying to get an idea and a starting place to beable to talk to this guy and not drive all the way to NC and it not be what we want or can use.

Larry: The only Farmall 100 on 12 volt are the ones changed by owners after they were sold new. 130 were all 6 volt and 140 were until 1964-65.

All the 100's, 200's up through 140's and 240's were definitely 6 volt from the factory as Hugh said. Conversations did not get popular till up in the late 70's or 80's when the tractors were not run as much and needed help with cranking. The old farmall guys just did not see the need for the change. (I was one of them.)

LMack: You have a good point, as long as the tractor is well tuned 6 volts will start any of these 4 cylinder gassers, anytime it's fit to be out on one.

I have a 6 volt Super A and 12 volt 130 and 140. In 17 years and on average Super A has been least troublesom and starts the best of the three.
