1947 Cub Lo-Boy

Does anyone know how much this tractor weighs? No weights or accessories to speak of. Going to go look at one and wondering if it will fit in the bed of a 3/4 ton Chevy long bed OK? Truck bed is a full 8 feet inside and 4 feet between the wheel wells. Ideas gratefully accepted.

Well, that eats up all but 60 pounds of my total allowed vehicle weight including load and I still haven't accounted for my own weight. Guess I better pass her by or scare up a trailer. Sure would have been a lot easier to roll it into the PU!

Pappy often hauled a Cub with a Woods 42 belly mower in a 1/2-ton '52 International with no problems. If your 3/4-ton Chevy won't handle it, I'd be raising an eyebrow and wondering why.

[1947 was first year for the Cub, and the Lo-Boy didn't happen until about '55 or so. But you probably know that by now.]

Dave, a Farmall cub weighs 1430, and International Cub Low-Boy 1580. I've hauled my 48 Cub with belly mower in my 3/4 ton several times. No problem at all. Even tho my 3/4 ton pickup says 3/4 ton/1500 pounds, it (and all of 'em) will haul far more than that. Just good tires, proper pressure in 'em and drive sensibly. Good luck.

Probably shoulda mentioned the truck is a 1976 Chevy with a 350 V-8 (and none of that is a typo!) that runs real good. Still, I am thinking I will go with a trailer. I haven't had the truck long enough to know how it handles under load.

Hauled 3 of them home, one at a time of course, with my 99 Chevy heavy half 4X4. No problem weight wise the only scary thing is that there is no good way to tie them down in a pickup bed. I was very lucky and got by with it, if I'd had an accident it could have been really bad news.
