On the the tune up specs for a super h it show the spark to occur on the 1st notch of the pulley
Is it the same for the 300
also at that mark is that spark for cylinder #1
because I found mine to be timed for #4
at that point

Turning engine in the dirrection of normal rotation the last mark that gets to pointer is TDC. If you mean the rotor is pointed to # 4 cylinder roll engine agian until the marks come up and it should point to # 1 and number 1 should be on compression stroke. If the 300 pulley has 3 marks the one closest to TDC mark is the total advance mark if its gasoline. If it has 4 marks, next from TDC is for LP timming 16 degrees, next is gasoline total advance 22 degrees, last is for kerosene or distillate engines 30 degrees. One with 3 notches doesn't have the LP mark.
