Question for you IH guys

I was having an argument with a friend about the highest production tractor of the mid to late 70s', say about 1978. I say the 1086 out sold everything including the green and yellow. Anyone got an idea?

I hate to brust your bubble cause I was hoping you were right.

But according to Tractor Data there were 47,000 1086's made 76-81. 61,000 4430's made 73-77. And 55.000 4440 78-82.

In 1978 about 9000 1086's and about 13,000 4440's were produced.

So we come up short.DARN

So just drop it and they won't know the word to the wiser.

You know I'm an oliver/white guy , so we won't talk about those numbers, but I sure was pullin' for the IH tractors on this one.
