We are desperately trying to get the W6 up and running for "Harvesting the old fashioned way" this weekend and need to track down a part ASAP. We need to buy the cap/cover bit that is between the gear box and clutch which stops the oil from coming out. The actual part has the number 8213 - D on it but after trawling the internet we have still not been able to locate the part we are looking for. Does anyone know what this bit is actually called or can point me in the right direction to buy another one!!!

Hope someone can help!!

Many thanks

Claire

claire, the number must be a casting number, it doesnt look like a part number. is it possible to post a piture of the part and where it goes? it kind of sounds like a seal retainer maybe. i have a w-6 parts catalog at the shop, you can shoot me an e mail and i can see if i can look up the correct part number. once we figure out what you need, then its all down hill from there. bates corporation is a good source for salvage i-h tractor parts, heres a link

Ask for the cover or bearing retainer that goes in front of the transmission counter shaft if you have a salvage yard close. Late SM tractors with live hydraulic use it also. SW6 also. Part # changed to 9305 DA. I have one but don't think I could get it to you in time. You can also use a retainer from a farmall M tractor but would need to get the sloted nut that goes with it and install a seal in retainer.

Thank you for your help so far, found out today from Chichester tractors the the part number is 9305DA so just got to try and track one down!!!
