That's easy and be spotted from 300 feet away (if you have 20-20 vision).

Rather than the cast iron front frame on earlier models, the Super WD-6 has steel frame channels like a M. I don't think there was any "cast iron tub" carry over from the old model to the new.

Look on the engine above the injection pump and just below the head for the stamped in engine size and serial #. D-334 or 335 can't remember for a WD9 and D 350 for a SWD9. If it has disc brakes instead of band its probably a super but some of the last regular W9 may of had them. If the engine was changed sometime this may not help. All the W9 series were cast frame. SW6 came both ways.

Ooops, sorry about that. That's what you get for trying to read this forum while doing hand stands.

No, the cast iron tub was used through the 650 which was the last 9 series wheeled tractor. Incidentally, it is a very weak point on the tractor. Look it over good. If it has/had a loader on it, the tractor should be passed over or used for parts.

You should be looking for disc brakes, live hydraulics, and serial number. Click on "serial numbers" at left side of this page.
