Rebuilding Farmall C engine

I am rebuilding my 1st engine....Getting ready to install sleeves and saw somewhere to use sleeve sealer around the sleeve where it seats to the block...I am assuming it goes under the upper lip and at the lower seat...Where do I get sleeve sealer and I am interpreting this right???

Thanks

Not sure where you saw that, but there's no need for a sealer. In fact, noting more is needed that a good sozzle of your favorite liquid dish detergent to lube the O- rings. Gob it onto the bottoms of the sleeves and onto the rings before youput them in. They'll seal up fine all by themselves.

Far more important is having the grooves that hold the rings good and clean.

Thanks...I read the info on sleeve sealer in a article on YT on rebuilding a sleeve engine...Also saw it somewhere else...But a couple of friends who are mechanics didnt think it was right either...Mark
