Farmall 300 throttle

A while back I remember a guy talking about how he found a solution to the common problem with the 300 throttle. Where the trottle will vibrate back to idle off of the notches. He said that his solution would not alter to original look of the tractor. Anyone heard if his idea worked?

Or does anyone know of a way to fix this with maybe some friction discs on the throtle shaft under the hood or something?

A heavier spring on the through bolt on the pivot to hold the lever better, and sharpening the teeth with a three corner file. The pawl (should also be sharpened as needed to hold well. The spring is 70% of the issue it will be weathered to a weak wire size. Do not use friction on the rods. JimN
